Frequently asked questions

If you have a question for us, please first read this FAQ. Is the answer to your question not listed? Send us an e-mail at pr@lottemartens.com

What does ‘limited edition’ mean?

Our limited edition collections are printed only once and won't be reprinted. You'll need to be fast to get a hand on them before they're sold out! Our permanent collection 'Happily ever after' is not a limited edition collection, which means that those fabrics will be reprinted several times so they are available year-round.

Do you offer coordinating fabrics?

Of course! When designing new fabrics we always keep in mind that all new fabrics should go well with the previous collections. All fabrics carrying the same color number (e.g. Buteo 040, Loxia 040, Tur Tur 40,...) are printed on the same fabric. We also offer matching uni fabrics. If you want to complement your handprinted panel with some uni fabric, choose for the uni with the same color number too (e.g. Bromelia 08 goes with uni 08).

Are all fabrics cut by the metre/yard?

This depends on the fabric:

  • our handprinted fabrics are pre-cut in panels sized 60 x 150 cm. We chose for this size because it is versatile both for you and for us: you easily get a skirt out of one panel, and bigger sized panels would be too expensive to print. These panels are delivered to the stores already pre-cut. When you order two panels, you will thus receive two separate panels.
  • our digitally printed and woven fabrics (e.g. the jerseys, jacquards, silks and crepes) as well as the uni fabrics are cut by the metre/yard
  • our DIY packs include A3-sized fabric pieces
How do I best wash my fabrics?

To check the washing instructions specific for each fabric, find the technical files of the fabrics here.

Wash your fabrics and garments at 30° or less. Always turn garments inside out before washing. Do not iron directly onto the print. For the most durable result, we would advise washing your fabrics by hand. Pre-washing fabrics is only necessary when the fabric contains an amount of cotton fibers.

I am a blogger and I'd love to cooperate with Lotte Martens for an upcoming blog tour. What do I do?

We are always looking for new inspiring people to collaborate with! The best way to get noticed is to sew something with our fabrics and to share it to social media using the hashtag #lottemartensfamily. We often browse this hashtag and note the creations that stand out to us, so we can contact their creators for a next collaboration!
